DaVinci Resolve Deliver and Export (beginner guide)

Render your finished project to a file using the Deliver page. Here’s how to do it in DaVinci Resolve on macOS, step by step — part of the free DaVinci Resolve beginner curriculum.

Lesson 7 of the DaVinci Resolve curriculum. Before this: Audio and Fairlight. This is the final lesson in the current DaVinci Resolve sequence.

What you’ll do

• Navigate to the Deliver page (Shift+7)
• Identify the two main panels: Render Settings (left side) and Render Queue (right side)
• Select a render preset from the top of Render Settings — choose “YouTube 1080p” for HD web delivery or “YouTube 4K” for 4K delivery
• Understand the key settings in the Render Settings panel: Format (MP4 or QuickTime), Codec (H.264 or H.265), Resolution, Frame Rate, and file Filename/Location
• Click the File Location field to choose where the rendered file will be saved
• Click “Add to Render Queue” (Command+Shift+R) to add the current render job to the Render Queue on the right
• Click “Start Render” (Command+Enter) to begin rendering all jobs in the queue
• Monitor render progress in the Render Queue — a progress bar and estimated time remaining are shown for the active job
• Use the “Entire Timeline” option to render the full edit, or set In and Out points on the Deliver page timeline to render only a section
• After render completes, find the exported file at the location you specified and verify it plays correctly
